Non-Retaliation
Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) supports a non-retaliation environment that encourages everyone to promptly report, in good faith, all problems, real and potential errors, near-misses, hazardous conditions and safety issues in the spirit of improving quality. Employees who make a good-faith report of such events or disruptive behavior shall not be punished or retaliated against for making such reports. Additionally, staff that cooperates with quality review processes shall not be retaliated against or fear of reprisal for such cooperation as provided for in ANTHC's Code of Conduct and applicable policies and procedures.
Privacy and Confidentiality
Every ANTHC employee having access to this system must comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the Federal Privacy Act of 1974 and applicable state confidentiality laws. Any use of information, accessed through this system, for purposes beyond compliance with the system's internal risk management program and which is not specifically authorized is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination, as well as civil and/or criminal penalties. All information entered into this event/occurrence reporting system is to be kept confidential, not to be disclosed and is protected from discovery to the extent as provided by law. To the extent as provided under applicable law, peer review information is also subject to confidentiality and protection from discovery unless otherwise subject to disclosure.
